"Integrity" is more than just the name of the business. For Yvonne Chastain, owner and founder of Integrity of Madison County, it is a way of doing business and a way of life.
"I do the very best job I can and I do not compromise my values (or) my beliefs," she said. "I want my business to reflect my personal belief in that what is right is right and what is wrong is wrong."
Integrity provides financial services to businesses and individuals including accounting, payroll, tax consultation, and tax preparation. Chastain, who has been providing accounting services for over 20 years, says tax season is not the only time of year to speak with an accountant.
"We do a lot of tax planning for businesses and individuals," she said. "Sometimes people make investment decisions without thinking about the tax consequences. It's always a good idea to talk to your tax person before you finalize anything."
Chastain and Integrity celebrated their fifth anniversary in August and says it was important to instill her own belief system into the business from the start.
"When I was putting together the website initially and we were putting all that together a few years ago, it's who I am," she said. "That's how I was raised by my parents and that's how I've tried to raise my children. When no one is looking, you still do what's right."
